A More User Friendly Character Sheet

chiron0224 Jan '13
The character sheet is really great right now (I especially love being able to click your stats and the roll is entered automatically), but in other ways it could still be a lot more user friendly so here are my suggestions. When you click the edit button you should be able to edit the stats in the sheet using drop down boxes or editable blanks instead of having to work in the sort of code language all in one big box at the bottom. Also, there would be an "add a stat" button at the bottom of the stats. If you click it a new blank attribute appears. Also there would be an "add a trait" and "add a pool" button. Add a pool would allow you to create another pooled resource similar to the current life and Power points(not entirely sure about this one though, maybe just limit the adding to traits and attributes). Also there should be a new category that defaults to not having anything called "Special Items" with an "Add an Item" button. These would work just like traits, but they would be here for convenience. So here's the character sheet in action...

ex.
GM: alright guys, welcome to my game, I make use of an additional attribute called "Charisma" that you will use for social rolls. You all get 9 stat points to distribute among your four stats
Players all click "Add a stat" and add "Charisma" and use the drop down boxes to distribute their 9 points
One player decides that he wants to be very attractive, the GM let's him do this as a +1 trait for certain situations so the player clicks the dialog box for one of his traits and types in "Attractive" and sets it to 1 using the drop down box.
The game gets going and players accumulate wealth. One player spends 5 wealth points on a magic sword.
That player clicks "Add an Item" and types "Magical Flaming Sword" in the dialog box and uses the drop down box to set it to "+1".
That player gets into a fight and attacks the monster clicking Might 3, Warrior +1, and "Magical Flaming Sword" +1 and so rolls 5 dice.

Hi Chiron, yes, the edit character page will eventually be more automated once the design is more stable. Thanks

I figured as much. I absolutely love this game btw, I've been telling all of my gamer buddies about it.

I've had this same idea just yesterday and I'd be excited to see it implemented! Really just for convenience
