Apostrophe, Not Tilde, Opens Character Sheet
That's kind of strange. It works fine here with FF9 on Windows 7. Are you maybe using an international keyset or something?
I verified that the code is just listening for char code 192, which is grave (`).
I'm just using the standard English (US) keyboard setting, on a Mac. However, I have just confirmed that this is only on Windows. When my Mac is running OS X, the grave opens it, and the apostrophe works fine. Maybe a keyboard driver issue, I guess. Anyway, good work, and thanks for getting back to me so fast.
When you get a chance, can you see if the same thing happens in a different browser? Thanks
So, just some quick results on both Oses I have as of this morning...
OS X: Firefox beta doesn't have the problem, nor does Safari Windows 7: Firefox 9.0.1 does have the problem, the site's broken in Internet Explorer 8 (this does not surprise me), and Safari 5.1 has the problem. To me, this definitely suggests that it's a keyboard issue. I wrote a quick script to print out keycodes for me, and in both Safari and Firefox on Windows, ' is 192, while ` is 223. Why? I couldn't tell you. But I guess that confirms it is on my end, not yours. Please log in to add a comment. |
