The Codex are commands that interact with the world. They can be used directly by speaking or ascribed to objects through a process of mentally coding the commands and attributes.

Generate - creates an energy element in an area
Expel - fires an energy element in a given direction
Absorb - nullifies an energy element
Target - Expels an energy element at a given object
Temperature - raises or lowers the temperature of an object
Hardness - raises or lowers the hardness of an object
Weight - raises or lowers the density of an object
Heat capacity - raises or lowers the specific heat of an object

Triggers can be given to objects to use a command under certain conditions.
Command - activates when a conscious command is given, either verbally or mentally with physical contact
Pressure - activates when pressure is applied to the object
Temperature - activates when an object's temperature rises or falls
Contact - activates when something touches the object

"Generate Pyre" - creates a ball of fire
"Expel Aero" - fires a blast of wind
"On Contact, raise Temperature" - heats an object up if something touches it
A simple carved birch wood wand is ascribed with the string "Expell Electric Element on Command." Although it has no physical distinctions, when a user points it and wills it to do something, a bolt of electricity will fire from it.
