TURN BASED GAMEPLAY --IN THE FIELD--
First of all, there are turns in the entire game. This is to help me run the game better and avoid confusion. When it's not your turn, you can still talk and move around. However, in order to interact with the environment and chat with a few NPCs you'll have to wait for your turn. You can do as many things you want in your turn... Just take your time.
TURN BASED GAMEPLAY--BATTLES--
The battle system is quite different. It still has turn order, only this time you can only talk when it's not your turn. When it is your turn you can do two of the following actions, they can be two of the same action or two different actions:
ATTACK - When you choose to attack, you attack someone or something with your equipped weapon. If it's a close range melee attack (Punching, Swords, etc) then roll your normal attack rolls. (You know, might/wisdom + modifiers)
However if it's far ranged (Bows, Magic, etc) then first you add might/wisdom/agility + modifier to determine your range. These will vary so ask me during the game. Some examples include:
- Bow (Might + Any Archery related Skills)
- Magic (Wisdom + Any Magic related Skills)
So let's say you're shooting an arrow and Might + Archery Skill adds up to 4. Then you shoot an arrow 4 spaces away.
MOVE - This is similar to the range thing above. You grab Agility + Any Movement related skill (Fast runner, etc) and add them up. Let's say you get a 3 from adding these together. Then you can only move 3 spaces per action. (Of course you can move 6 spaces if you choose to move again the second action.)
ITEM - Use an item. It's pretty simple. You can also use an item on an ally beside you or throw an item to any ally 5 spaces away.
So yeah, when Life gets to 0 the person is dead or KO.
INVENTORY
One person can only carry up to 5 items. All your items are written in the Notes section of your Character Sheet. You guys will have to learn to manage your items. Equipment counts as an item as well, equipped or not. (When equipping an item, place the letters EQ next to the item to know it's equipped.)
EQUIPMENT
There are only two pieces of equipment, that way you can use the other 3 item slots for other things. The items you equip are Armor and Weapons. Your Armor increases your total Life. Your Weapon is just there so i'd know if you attack from far away or close range. Of course you don't need to carry equipment, and you can have all 5 item slots for potions and stuff.
Well those are all the rules. Nothing too complicated.
