Greternesh Quests

oman1666 Jun '15  /  edited Jun '15
The following Quests are currently available to the party. As I find the time to make quests, I will be adding them to the list. Some quests may unlock a quest, or make another quest uncompletable! The quests chosen, and the actions within them, will help to shape the world of Greternesh.

The decision of which quest to do will be decide democratically via Strawpoll. Please note the following voting rules.
1) MULTIPLE VOTES ARE ALLOWED. In fact, they are encouraged. Do not merely tick your favourite option and move on - tick all options for quests you'd be cool playing. Voting in this way helps satisfy the greatest numbers of players.
2) ONLY PLAYERS CAN VOTE. Whilst the link will be posted openly on the table, I do not expect observers to vote. Only party members who have currently joined the table.
3) RESPECT THE OUTCOME. Ultimately... it doesn't matter what quest we do, let's not spend all game arguing over which one we should have done. If you're favourite quest wasn't chosen, I don't expect you to hold a grudge or deliberately try and sabotage the quest (unless this fits your character), sometimes we will do a quest you voted for, other times we won't - that is democracy! :)

Good luck, and have fun.

Chasing Shadows: Part 1

Difficulty: Medium
Challenges: Navigating a hostile environment enchanted with dark magic, a high chance of combat
Quest Giver(s): Shadious AND Shinious

Shinious Writes: Shadious continues to elude us. The Dark God is a source of evil and corruption in this world, I have been able to severally weaken him, but not defeat him. He still exists, in the form of a Shade. A shadow that walks, and talks, and is there one moment and gone the next. It must be stopped. The Shade was last scene heading West, towards The Cursed Forest. This has been confirmed in a message... from a Vampire. He calls himself Dedric and wishes to give us information on the Shade. Meet him within the Corrupt forest, and we can begin to find, track and destroy Shadious once and for all!

Shadious Writes: Come and find me. I won't write where I am here just in case Shinious takes his book back, but I have information I can only enclose in person... and must enclose in person. I know society paints me as the ultimate source of evil... but that is not me, you HAVE to believe me... please. this information is world changing. Come and find me.

Capturing Corruption.

Difficulty: Easy.
Challenges: Navigating difficult swampy terrain, battling black mages, potential in-party sabotage from those loyal to Shadious.
Quest Giver(s): Shinious

A threat is posed by a high ranking Shaman named Grushlord. This Shaman, and his companions, are currently crossing the DCC from the Greatmarsh, with the ultimate goal of reaching Greenhovel, where they intend to establish a school of the dark arts, teaching the ways learnt in their home swamp to a much wider population of the Green-Skin race. With the Shadow Lord defeated, we have a good chance of removing the threats of the Dark Arts for good soon... but we cannot do this if their influence continues to grow.

At the moment, Grushlord is moving by night, his magic makes him hard to find, but the DCC think they can intercept him. In Beaksburg, there is a bog that almost touches the Birdmeet - if Grushlord is to cross anywhere, it will likely be here, where he can travel familiar terrain until the last moment, then steal across the river. We must intercept him here, and capture him to be tried for his crimes of illegal magics, and at least three confirmed murders within the DCC. the Duke of Beaksburg has dispatched a knight and four guardsman to this task, they would greatly benefit from your assistance.

Protecting the Arts

Difficulty: Medium
Challenges: Navigating difficult swampy terrain, battling skilled warriors and knights, potential in-party sabotage from those loyal to Shinious
Quest Giver(s): Shadious

The Shaman Grushlord wishes to teach the magical arts of the Shamans in Greenhovel. These powers would bring strength to the weak, and hope to those who have lost faith since Vorlord's defeat, it is a noble task, and one that would benefit the Green-Skin race greatly. But Shinious and the DCC can not stand for it...they cannot find pity for these people, they fear them too greatly to allow them to gain this strength, they seek to intercept Grushlord and his companions, and take them to the capital to be publicly executed - they must show humanity's dominance, and continue to suppress forms of magic that frighten them. I believe the Green-Skins should be given freedom and strength, to rise as a mighty nation!

Grushlord will reveal himself to you under my banner, if you agree to assist him. Go to him, and help him with the barrier the DCC have built. Break through the wall, the knights, the guards... and spread freedom and art in this world.

I know Shinious will have asked you to stop Grushlord. I can only pray you will make the correct choice.

War in Talmonton: Part 1

Difficulty: Medium
Challenges: Defensive and naval combat
Quest Giver(s): Duke Leopold Talrule of Talonton
WARNING: The entire 'War in Talmonton' plot line deals with the theme of racial prejudice to an extreme. There may be parallels in these quests to real-life genocides like the holocaust. These quests are not recommended or suitable for younger players or the faint of heart.

War rages on in Talmonton since Jason the Ranger ended the life of King Richard, and the party escaped his arena. Recently, the party have been contacted by the Duke of Talonton, who helped him escape. He and his daughter (the King's former queen) have fortified a small town, and want to catch up with the party, and begin working with them to help them win the war. The war is being fought between people loyal to the Duke and Prince Neil, and people loyal to a man claiming to be Shinious, who has taken over the country, claiming to be the Prince's regent. The Duke wishes for the party to cross the Birdmeet by boat (he will send an escort ship) so that they may discuss present circumstance.
