This table forum is messy. Topics that are outdated but I don't want to delete will be moved here. Other forums will be changing as campaigns are condensed into a single forum. Sorry for any email spam caused by these changes.

===Rules for all Games===

*NOTE: These rules are in the ARCHIVE - therefore my not be current. Do not quote this at me as if they are set in stone. I decided the rules!*

-The standard Fabletop rules are being used in all games with minor tweaks to mechanics. These can be viewed here: fabletop.com/help
-All characters in all games must have at least 1 custom trait and a description.
-An additional attack die can be rolled when the player is at a great advantage, e.g. a stealth attack or when the enemy is stunned/prone,
-Stay in character, and try to avoid OOC talk. (this often leads to meta-gaming and interrupts the flow of the game)
-Rolling a flaw (a trait with a value of 0) at an appropriate time will give 1xp. This can only be done once per flaw per session.
-A prestige system is being run in all my games. It works by the following rules: A 100xp character may prestige. When this happens, they lose all their xp, their life and power reset in order to add up to 8, and all traits are removed, except for a single existing trait at +3. A prestiged character may then edit their base traits (might, agility and wisdom) and rearrange them in any way they like, adding up to 8. In the very unlikely event a character reaches 200xp, they can prestige for a second time with base traits adding to 9.

--My Approach to Powers—

-Status Effects: A power point may be used to deal damage and add a status effect (knocking over the enemy, poison, stun etc.) Note that a STANDARD roll can do ONE of these things, i.e. Damage without a status effect or a status effect with no damage. Note also that some enemies may be highly resistant, or even immune to certain status effects. (A dragon may take 3 stars to stun, whilst a fire elemental is likely immune to burning). Alternatively, a power point may be used to apply a status effect AOE without causing any damage or 2 power to apply damage and status effects AOE. Power points cannot be used just to ensure damage.
-AOE: 1 enemy per star takes 1 damage per star. A second power point can be added to this to apply a status effect as well as this damage. A second power point can also be used for mass AOE, affecting twice as many targets!
-Healing: As per Fabletop standard, 2 life per star is healed. Any excess healing bleeds over to other targets and a second power point can be added for AOE healing (at 1 life per star to all of the party.)
-Summoning: There are two variants of summoning I have; single summons and horde summons. A single summon summons a single powerful creature. Its attack + its life will equal 3 times the player's roll. A horde summon will summon 2 creatures per star with 1 attack and 1 life each. Two power points may be used to perform 2 summons (of either type) simultaneously. This can apply to both types together or separately e.g. 2 groups, 2 single creatures, 1 group and 1 single creature. The stars on the roll will apply to both summons.
-Attack Buffs: A player is selected and can roll an additional attack die for 1 turn per star on the buff roll, for 2 power points this can affect 1 player per star.
-Defense Buffs: A player is selected and gains 15% damage reduction per star on a buff roll. Damage they take is then reduced by that percentage, and rounded to the nearest whole number. This remains until the end of combat. For 2 power points this can be done AOE, affecting 1 player per star, but at only 10% per star.
-Adding a Star: This can ONLY be done OUT OF COMBAT. Rolling power when jumping over a gap, avoiding a trap or fighting off poison guarantees automatic success regardless of difficulty. Power cannot be added just to deal 1 extra damage with an attack.
-Other: If you can think of anything that isn't on this list but is relevant to your character, feel free to do it! I have no objection to making up the mechanic on the fly.

--A Guide to Status Effects--

Poison or Burn: On the turn of the player or NPC affected by these effects, the affected player or NPC rolls stamina against a set difficulty (usually 1). If they fail, they take 1 damage. The status effect is removed when the affected is healed.

Stun, Frozen or Paralyzed: The affected player or NPC looses a turn. An extra attack die may be rolled against players affected.

Prone: The affected player or NPC acts later in the turn order, and must roll a speed check before acting. Regardless of the result of the roll, the effect is removed. If at least 1 star is rolled, the player may then act. If no stars are rolled then standing takes the player's entire action. An extra attack die may be rolled against players affected.

Vulnerable: An extra attack die is rolled against players or NPCs with this status effect. It may last 1 turn or multiple turns.

Disarmed, Blind or Injured Body Part: A player who is disarmed or blinded has a star deducted from their roll. An NPC who is disarmed or blinded has their attack dice lowered to whatever I see fit. Blind or an injured body part is removed upon heal. Disarm will require retrieving the weapon removed (which will usually be placed as a miniature.)

Sleeping: The effected player must roll intelligence on their turn to wake up. If they fail, they stay asleep. If they get 1 star, it takes their entire turn to wake up. If 2 or more stars are rolled, the player wakes up and may then act again. An extra attack die may be rolled against players affected. This status effect commonly stacks on top of prone.

Drowning: Tagged automatically any time a player is in water. An athletics check is made per turn to swim (allowing 1 square of movement per star.) Rolling 0 stars results in 1 damage to the player. An extra attack die may be rolled against players affected.

Many other miscellaneous things may also be tagged.

*Neither of these following threads will ever be relevant again, but I don't have the heart to delete them. They are here to reduce clutter*

we have now come to a point in Footsteps where the final boss will be fought in the next session. To do this sucessfully a party of 6 is needed, I have tried twice and failed to get this number. I can host daily starting from 4PM-8PM GMT, the session may take 3 or more hours. is there a time that a large number of you can come along at?
ferhargo Sep '13 delete
We'll probably have to wait until this weekend. We have slightly different schedules...

you mean you can start hosting at 8PM cause I think you went on till 1AM multiple times.
I generally am on on the weekends, and I am in +1 GMT
Trough the week I will be unlikely to join.
I will not be on this sunday before evening.

Looks like weekends is looking like my best shot, I will try a few more times before that though, I will be able to start later on Friday night and saturday night if I have the energy to go so

What Next?

Footsteps is drawing to a close, in a week or two the campaign will have been completed, so I am asking all those who play at my table; What next?

I have three potential game ideas ready; a high-fantasy dungeon crawler in which any high fantasy character from Footsteps of Questscape would be usable. A super-hero themed campaign in which Hero's City characters would be usable or a spin-off campaign from Ton-Fi Arena which would blend Sci-Fi and Fantasy and in which old Ton-Fi characters would of course be usuable

Let me know which one you like the sound of because which ever one has the most demand will be my next campaign!

The high fantasy one has my vote, but maybe you can think of a way to continue Footsteps :P

I vote The Dungeon Crawler. Though i'd like a Footsteps 2

In the end, I'm fine with all of the options. I've got a wide enough base to be able to play any of those.

You might not want to do the Ton-Fi spin-off though... No magic or 'Superheros, so suspension of disbelief' to wave off violations of physical laws. And you know what happens to violations when I'm at the table.

Fer, the point of Ton-Fi from the start was Sci-Fi plus Magic, so that won't be a problem :P

Footsteps will be finished within a week, my first full campaign done to the end (I'm proud of myself :P) The next game I run will be a dungeon crawler by the name of The 'Dungeon of Murkgrof' Any high fantasy characters from Footsteps, Questscape or even Greternesh will be usable in the game but they will loose all of their items. To make up for this, this new game will have a lot more loot, with each floor-boss dropping a unique loot item

I hope everyone had a great time playing Footsteps and will enjoy this new game even more :)
