Magic is a useful thing to know; allowing you to perform otherworldly actions. However, due to it's nature it is unable to cause harm. Furthermore, the act of using magic is physically draining: Paleness, sweating, coldness, dizziness and even vomiting are common symptoms of excessive magic use.
Spells are divided into four categories: Surveillance, Warding, Suppression and Vitalisation.
=====
Surveillance Tome:
- Spirit formation: The caster projects their mental form from a reflective surface, allowing to see where their eyes are not. Incantation: "From the mirror I may see"
- Void window: The caster is able to see through walls, but with varying levels of effectiveness. Incantation: "What once was not, may now become clear"
- Eye borrowing: The caster is able to see through the eyes of their target and hear through their ears. Incantation: "What's yours is ours. Lets us see. Let us hear."
- Location: The caster is able to use biological material of a target to find their location, with varying effectiveness. Incantation: "May the discarded find it's master. Lead the way."
=====
Warding Tome:
- Barrier: The caster is able to create a tangible barrier to prevent attacks from passing through. Incantation: "The passage closes, an attack denied."
- Fear: The caster amplifies the base fears of a target, causing them to flee. Incantation: "May the void gaze upon you, and show your terror."
- Area of denial: The caster creates a space where undead are unable to enter, albeit for a short period of time. Incantation: "A land of the living, I now create."
- Purge: The caster creates a seal upon a body, preventing it from being resurrected for a period of time. "May this corpse be prevented from rising"
=====
Suppression tome:
- Bind: The caster summons ethereal chains to prevent a target from moving. Incantation: "May these chains bind you to the ground you once roamed."
- Weaken: The caster exerts magical energy upon the target, causing sluggish movements and slower reactions. Incantation: "Your body belies your command, let it slow."
- Halt: The caster is able to prevent any phylactery's from resurrecting their owners, however only for a short time (Similar to "Purge"). Incantation: "I bid thee to allow the dead to rest."
- Shadow black: The caster creates a darkness for the target, preventing vision. Incantation: "Your vision clouds. A shroud of abyssal darkness"
=====

- Energise: The caster donates some of their physical energy to allow their target to gain more of theirs (PP). Incantation: "Let that which is mine becomes yours"
- Enhance: The caster improves the reactions, speed and durability of the target; allowing them to block or dodge give greater proficiency. Incantation: "May your physical form remain intact, it's own means prevailing"
- Exchange: A last resort spell, allowing the caster and their target to exchange wounds (no PP cost, but it will damage). Incantation: "An exchange to preserve a life, a noble damage"
