When engaged in a fight, you’ll each take turns performing an action. In real life, Personas can only be summoned when in immediate danger. They can be summoned anytime in The Dream Realm.
When it is your turn you may do one of the following:
- Attack (With your soul bound weapon)
- Skill (Use a Persona skill in exchange for HP/PP)
- Defend (Defend next turn, reducing enemy damage by half.)
- Item (Use an item)
At any time during your turn you may change your equipped Persona, however you can only change once per turn. Keep in mind that when changing you also change your strengths and weaknesses.
Once More!
If you manage to Daze an opponent, you’ll be able to act again in the same turn! However this won’t work if you attack an opponent who is already Dazed.
All Out Attacks
When an entire party is dazed, the opposing party may unleash an All Out Attack. During such an attack, the entire party rolls Might plus any relative traits. All the roles are combined and all enemies are damaged. However after an All Out Attack the opposing party automatically recovers from Daze.
If you get a Moon during an attack you’ll perform a Critical Attack, which dazes the opponent.
However a Skull will cause your entire attack to miss, dazing you instead due to the confusion.
Special Statuses
Dazed - You cannot act for 2 turns.
Poisoned/Burned - Lose 1 life per turn for 3 turns. Burns can be put out with a Bufu Skill.
Charmed - You are forced to attack one of your friends instead for 3 turns
Stunned/Frozen - You cannot act the following turn. You may unfreeze with an Agi Skill.
Blind - Instead of missing when 0 stars are rolled, you’ll also miss if only a single star was rolled as well. Lasts 3 turns.
Fear - Foes: Run away from battle, Party: Deal Half Damage for three turns.
Panic - Prevent the use of special skills for three turns.
After a battle, you’ll be rewarded with XP. If you won using an All Out Attack or with a moon, i’ll call out Shuffle Time!
Shuffle Time!
The party chooses one player to determine a number between 1 and 4. Each number can have one of the following cards:
- Wand (Party gains extra XP)
- Coin (Party gains a cash reward)
- Persona (The chosen player is awarded a new Persona!)
- Broken (No reward.)
- Cursed (Some Wand and Coin rewards are cursed, these cursed cards summon Death…)
