An Eye For An Eye - Magic of the god of law. Zenus demands justice, and will inflict great harm on wrong-doers. Annihilate Evil - Northhollow was a bustling city, but corrupt to its very core. Now the lord's work is done; Northhollow lies still. Ageing Curse - A spell of La'an that accelerates the ageing process. Ageing Curse strikes dread into the hearts of mortals. Animate Shadow - Allows the caster to bring their shadow to life. The Last Lord of Landing was seen speaking to a shadow for many years before his demise, but it is unknown if this was his own animated shadow or an avatar of Shadious. Animate Weapon - Magic of the god of war. For years, the Herroxian people pondered the question 'how can I utilize even more axes?', Animate Weapon was the elegant solution. Avatar of the War God - Many Herroxian warriors have the magical ability to assume a larger form with more arms. Herrox himself is said to be forty feet tall and six armed. Axe Volley - Modification of Storm of Swords created by Wolfgang, a respected wizard of Herrox. Causes a barrage of phantom axes that spew from the caster and seek the mightiest foes in the area... for what other targets would please Herrox?
B
Balance - Pa'an believed strongly in equal opposites, and encouraged Greter to make the gods in opposite pairs. During the first age, the weaker force of a battle would often pray to Pa'an in hopes that he would even the odds, but the time has long since passed that Pa'an will listen. Banish - An inversion of Pa'an's usual magic, which allows summoning. Banish sends a summoned creature back to where it came from. If one has enemies amongst the gods, they would be wise to master this spell. Barely Clothed - For the poorest of the world, a lion cloth and some filthy rags are the only clothing available. Bask In Sunlight - It is a misconception that Pyracious created the sun. The sun simply is Pyracious. Its heat and light is also Pyracious. To be close to the god of fire, simply be outside on a sunny day. Battle Axe - Large, brutish weapon. It relies on the blade's weight more the wielder's skill. The Axe was the favoured weapon of the god Herrox, and became holy to his people. Black Cloak - A dark robe, that hides it wearer beneath it. It is worn only by those with something to hide and has become synonymous with the guilty. Black Magic Charm - A wooden idol, imbued with protective magical energy. The Great Marsh was the scene to countless unspeakable acts and dark magic lingers everywhere. Without charms like these, the marsh would be all but uninhabitable. Black Robes - Ceremonial robes of a dark colour. Black is a holy colour to both Necra'an and Shadious. Blast of Wind - A spell of the goddess Fi which repels foes away from the caster. Legend tells of a great Elven citadel in the Far West where Blast of Wind was cast permanently, preventing any non Elf from reaching its walls. Blessing of Continuity - Before the death of her husband, Levia'an was known as Levia; and she was the goddess of continuity. Blessing of Peace - A simple Terroxian prayer. It asks the goddess to shield from harm those who have not harmed others. Blinding Light - The light of Shinious burns as intensely as the sins of those who view it. Few have ever looked at Shinious without being permanently blinded. Blue Cape - A cape of a deep, royal blue colour. Royal blue is the national colour of Crowdor. Many in the service of the empire wore their kings colours. Bolt of Protection - Unlike the followers of Levia'an, those who choose the religion of peace are not sworn to pacifism. When it is necessary, Terrox will allow a life to be taken. Bolt of Wrath - A bolt of white lightning, hurled by Shinious and those who follows them. Wrath is a deadly sin, except when expressed in this form. The corrupt are a blight on the world, and wrath against them is fully justified in the eyes of the gods. Bone Staff - A simple staff made out of bone, a symbol of death. Carrying a staff is essential when navigating the great marsh as you never know if the ground ahead will support you or swallow you up. Broken Compass - This compass broke long ago, and no longer points north. Is it merely useful rubbish, or does it contain a secret power? Buckler Shield - A simple, light weight shield, carried by many. Relies more on the skill of the wielder than the durability of the shield's material.

Call to the Wild - The followers of Levia'an vow never to take a life. But nature's wild beasts take no such vow. Killing is part of the natural world, and so the mages of life use animals to do their dirty work. Camo Leather - The uniform of the ranger of Ravenhill. Provides protection by cushioning crushing blows, and specially designed pattern of green helps the rangers blend into The Forest of Beasts. Chain Binding - The chains of Zenus shackle the guilty and these days no man is innocent. Chain of Death - Spell allowing the caster to feed on the power of Necra'an and bring death to many in rapid sequence. The followers of Necra'an see death as a blessing, and wish to share its beauty with everyone. Chaotic Barrage - Sends a barrage of different types of projectiles at its target; swords, balls of flame, arcane missiles, in some cases even kitchen sinks. Chaotic Summon - Spell asking Su'Nez for help. But the God of Chaos would never do something so straight forward and sensible as assist a friend in need. Charge - Magically infused charge, allowing the attacker to hit hard, and potentially cut down many foes. It is a favourite of barbarians and cavalry alike - which is partially why The Barbarian Wars were so bloody. Club - Short, simple, brutish hitting weapon. Clubs were carried by the Crow City Guard, who during peace time served as a police force. The club was an effective weapon for subduing, but not killing, petite criminals. Command of the Night - Shadow magic, allows the caster to over power the will of certain creatures. Shadious made many dark races, and he designed them with easily bendable wills, they are mere pawns in his quest for power. Consuming Darkness - Those who cross shadow mages meet a grim end. Blinded from the light of the world, they are left alone and afraid as their very mind turns against them, whispering horrific truths. In time they go mad. This is not helped by the accompanying agony. Copper Penny - A small copper coin of almost no worth. Once used to trade through Crowdor, but now of almost no wealth. Heads shows the elderly face of King Nicholas IV whilst tails shows a crow in flight. Corrupt Other - A foul shadow magic, allowing the caster to alter the very being of their victim. Vorlord spent years mastering this spell, and eventually used it to forever change the world. Covert Possession - Simple prayer, asking for material rewards. Often associated with the greedy Dwarf Lords, who would pray endlessly to Ri for more gold, more gems and more steel. Create Fortune - Fortune favours the bold, the lucky... and those who follow Su'Nez. Crested Shield - This beautifully crafted kite shield has been painted blue and decorated with the symbol of a white raven carrying a sword in its talons. This is the sigil of the Valiant Knights of the Most Noble order of the Crow. The shield is a symbol of their bravery and courage. The shield protects the knight and the knight protects the realm. Crossbow - A highly effective weapon, launches a sharp bolt quickly, at great range with great impact. Crossbows were banned during the reign of King Daniel II for being 'unsporting' as making a kill with them in warfare was just too easy. They were later legalised again and utilised as an effect way of protecting Crow City. Cutlass - Slightly curved swords with large hand guard for excellent parrying. Favoured weapon of pirates and the Crowdorian navy.

Death Indiscriminate - The followers of death know that in the end their master will turn on them. They even sometimes give their own life energy to cast their spells. At the end of the day death comes for peasants, kings and even gods. It follows no pattern and has no reason. It simply is. Decay - Necra'an saw beauty in the temporary. But, decay kills its target slowly and painfully - how can its caster call it beautiful? Decisive Action - In the first age, Greter created four elemental gods who shaped the world. Pyracious went last, and found that by the time his turn came, his siblings had made the world without him. He vowed there and then to never wait, hesitate or delay again. Demand Death - Forbidden magic, even kept from many training in The Great Marsh. When the words of this spell are spoken, someone must die. Demand Order - If Zenus had his way, there would be no randomness or unpredictability in the universe. Through this spell, Zenus' wish can temporarily be granted. Disarming Wave - Spell of Terrox, the goddess of peace. Forces those who would choose violence to drop their weapons. Disappear - Shadow magic. Causes the caster to disappear into the shadow. Darkness is the domain of thieves, murderers, and Shadious. Disguise - Shadious is known to take many forms; a living shadow, a serpent or even an Elf. Draining Strike - Shadow magic most commonly employed by Vampires, though others in the service of Shadious can also learn it. Draining strike moves life energy from the victim to the caster. Duel - Spell of the god Zenus. A duel sanctioned by a god is one on one fight. There can be no interference.

Earthquake - The power to summon a natural disaster is known only to the most skilled of elemental mages, this spell has been known to level entire settlements. Enchant Armour - Prayer to Terrox to bless a suit of armour. It is seldom cast, as Terrox's most devote followers are barbarians, who swear against the use of armour. Enchant Blade - Prayer to Herrox to bless a weapon. A version of this spell is known to some followers of Herrox that increases the blessed weapon's size tremendously. Energy Change - Before his death, Necra'an was known as Necra; and he was the god of change. Elven Tunic - In an art now lost to the world, The Elves once knew how to weave certain plants and flowers together in such a way to produce elegant, beautiful clothing with practically no weight what so ever that was still just as tough as animal skin clothing.
F
Fists - Your bare hands. To fight with this weapon one must be either a skilled pugilist... or truly desperate. Fireball - A crude but effect spell of the god Pyracious. The Wizard's Tower reports that 'I want to throw a fireball' is one of the most common reasons people apply to study there. Feather Fall - Spell of the goddess Fi, allows the caster to fall gently to their feet. A favourite of thieves and daredevils. Flaming Blade - An inflamed weapon has been a symbol of fury since the dawn of time. During the Dragon Wars, a line of ten-thousand flaming swords was almost enough to turn back the armies of the empire. Flash Flood - Hydracious may take centuries to plan an attack, but its arrival can be equal parts sudden and deadly. Flight - A difficult spell, known only be the most skilled mages of air. Allows one to embrace the true freedom of Fi, releasing the caster from even the restriction of gravity. Once in flight, the world is the caster's to see and explore. Flintlock Pistol - A weapon so technologically complex it took until after the fall of Empire to be manufactured; as it facilitated co-operation between Dwarves and Solo-Ki Forcefield - Allows the caster to conjurer a nearly unbreakable shield all around its target. Mages of peace use forcefields to both protect and imprison. Forbid - With a single word, or gesture of their hand, a high Judge may dictate what action the accused can or cannot take. Foretell - Minor magic of La'an, allowing her followers to see the future. The prophets of La'an have foreseen many important events throughout history but those who use this spell should always be cautious, one might not like what they see in their own future. Freedom - Simple prayer, said by those in captivity to beg the gods for release. Perhaps one day the words of this prayer will no longer be needed. But alas, the world is a cruel place. Freeze - Allows the caster to encase their victim in a block of ice. Ice is simply frozen water, making this spell; and much of the continent of Halla, the domain of Hydracious Freeze Time - An incredibly powerful form of time magic, very draining to its caster. To stop time completely is an incredible skill, and leaves all at mercy of the caster. Frenzy - A spell of war. Allows the caster to temporarily channel the limitless fury and passion of Herrox.

Give Life - Spell extending the life span of its target, even unnaturally so. The Druids of The Purelands have been known to live for centuries, despite being only human. Guide Arrow - The winds of Fi catch the arrows of those she favours. The legendary archer Sir Robert was a devout follower of Fi, and it was said no arrow he fired ever failed to find its mark.
H
Haste - A simple spell of the mages of La'an. Time manipulation causes time to pass more slowly for the caster than those around them. Hail Storm - Spell of the mages of Hydracious, summons a tempest of ice to fall from the sky. Many think of hail as routine weather, and forget that large enough pieces can easily kill a man. Healing Hand - A fundamental, but still very impressive spell of the mages of life. Emits a warm glowing light from the caster's hand that painlessly knits wounds back together. Heated Rage - Spell of the followers of Pyracious, who would happily throw away their long term survival for short term glory. Heated Rage turns the caster into a primal killing machine, who does pay attention to avoiding damage, only to inflicting it. Hidden Dagger - a small knife, easily hidden underneath a sleeve. Whilst dishonourable, you can't argue with this weapon's results. It is an ideal tool for an ambush Hide Clothing - simple clothing made from a patchwork of pelts. Often worn by the barbarians of Darkwood. Holy Water - A bandoleer containing several vials of water. The water has been blessed by mages of many gods, causing it to scorch the flesh of demons and vampires. Horn Dagger - A dagger made from the horn of The Black Unicorn. This beast was once, like all unicorns, a devoted and loving child of Levia'an, but grew filled with rage and hatred as was confronted with more and more of those who did not hold life sacred. Ironically, this would lead it to vow to take the lives of others, and thus eternally separate her from her goddess. What followed was an endless cycle of murder, separation, rage and more murder. Hurl Rock - The mages of Ri are often mocked for the simplicity of their spells... but when a boulder is thrown at speed across the battlefield, the mockery ceases. Hydrac Platemail - Specially modified armour of the most elite soldiers of Landing. Specially modified both magically and mechanically for better performance in water, allowing The Knights of Hydrac to fight more effectively in sea. Hysteria - Spells like this are why the practice of chaos magic is sometimes viewed in the same way as the spells of death and shadow. Hysteria brings nothing but bloodshed and sorrow wherever it is cast. No good can come from it.

Illuminate - One of the most basic spells of light, it brings illumination to the darkness. Incinerate - Conjurers an incredibly powerful flame, that only the most skilled of magicians can keep under control. Incorporeal Blade - What appears to be only a sword handle holds a hidden secret. Once wielded by a spirit, this weapon's blade exists on the incorporeal plane, making it ineffective against purely physical beings, but deadly to those who fear magic. Invert - Magic of god Su'Nez, who through the power of chaos can cause things to shift and change into their opposite. A hammer swung under the influence of inversion becomes sharp, and a needle an inflicter of blunt trauma. Invoke Patience - A favourite spell of the goddess Hydracious. The waves do not try to tear down the mountains in one sudden surge, they erode it away carefully over centuries; but in the end the mountain always falls. Invoke Stubbornness - The god of Earth has an unbendable, unbreakable will that his followers try to emulate. Many great Dwarf lords have only survived a last stand because of it. Many more have been overthrown by their followers for refusing their demands.

Knife - Small quick blade. Cuts both steak and human arteries in a quick and efficient motion.

Landslide - Magic of the god Ri. Causes great sheets of the Earth to tumble. In their duel, the Elf Cywin took the high ground over his opponent, but the Dwarf lord Thod soon, quite literally, levelled the playing field. Leather Armour - Thick armour made from tanned animal hide. Naturally cushions on-coming blows, so protects from crushing damage. Lethal Bolt - An elementary, but highly effective, technique of death mages is to take the life of others. The spell is hard to wield, and often fails to find its target, but a successfully cast Lethal Bolt is always deadly. Lightning Strike - Lightning arrives suddenly, causes tremendous damage, and then vanishes. In this way it is a lot like the mages of chaos. Liquid Light - Light itself turned liquid by Shinian magic. A healing potion. Liquid Shadow - Power itself turned liquid by Shadian Magic, an incredibly rare and useful potion. Longbow - A tall bow, usually as tall as its wielder. It is favoured over the shortbow by many for its superior power and range, though more strength is required to pull it. Longsword - A long blade. It's uses in battle are limited only by the imagination of its wielder. Longswords are common throughout Greternesh, and wielded by high born knight and lowly mercenary alike. Luck Manipulation - A subtle magic of the god of chaos. Reality is ultimately random, but fortune seems to favour the followers of Su'Nez Lucky Medallion - You have worn this piece of jewellery all your life for good luck, having found yourself in jail, you doubt it works. Lyre - A stringed musical instrument. What use is musical in these harsh and hopeless times?
M
Mania - A cruel but powerful spell from the element of chaos. Creates visions of madness and violence in the victim's mind, causing them to lash out aggressively. Manipulate Gravity - Before writing the laws of man, Zenus wrote the laws of reality. Amongst his first laws was this simple decree; small objects shall move towards large ones. Masterful Observation - Those who follow Pa'an learn a special kind of meditation; they sit, and do nothing, and watch everything that is happening within their field of vision. The most extremist followers of Pa'an have been known to sit their until they starved to death, but others have used these techniques to gain an advantage in battle. Mercy - The world is a chain of endless violence. Through this spell the mages of Terrox try to break the never ending cycle of bloodshed and vengeance.
N
Naval Uniform - hat and coat, and practical shirt and trousers of the Landing Navy. Designed to fit closer to the skin than regular clothing, so that swimming is easier. Necromancy - When one's stigma towards corpses is removed, it is soon realised they can be a useful resourced. A lesser form of demon creation, necromancy allows the caster to animate a corpse.

Observing Eye - Spell of the god Pa'an, allows the caster to borrow some of their god's omnipresent gaze.
P
Parrying Dagger - A blade wielded in the off hand, with a special curved cross-guard to catch and dislodge enemy blades. Parrying daggers are less effective than shields, but when successful, much more lethal. Pillars of Achamon - A magical spell of Achamon the Annihilator, a demon who has eaten some of the flesh of Necra'an. Achamon's dominion is wrath, which is unleashed as a pillar of pure energy by this spell. Pirate's Coat - Flamboyant, high fashion item from the anarchist nation of Redrum. Planeswalk - Magic of the god Pa'an, who's watchful eye cannot be avoided, no matter which reality one hides in. Plank shield - A crude shield hastily scraped together from string and rotting wood. No respectable fighter would be seen dead holding one... but in a crisis rotten wood is better than nothing. Platemail - Heavy armour made from several interlocking steel plates. It restricts mobility, but shrugs off all but the mightiest of enemy blows. Armour of this kind was expensive, and so owned only by the rich or the military elite. Potion Craft - Through a mixture of chemistry and magic, it is possible to craft many elixirs. The followers of Zenus are blessed with knowledge in both of these necessary fields. Prayer of Health - A prayer said commonly through many throughout the world. It asks Levia'an to grant good health to the person praying and to their loved ones. Protection of Neutrality - At the end of the first age, the two eldest lesser- gods became enemies. La'an swore to be a force of change in the world, whilst Pa'an felt that duty belonged only to Greter. He swore to a path of neutrality. Protective Charm - Small necklace, engraved with a prayer to all gods, asking for protection. Purify - Purity is a core tenant of the Shinian fate. Purity means absence of sin in the devout, and also the eradication of the corrupt.
Q
Quarterstaff - A simple stick. The elderly use it to support themselves and the well travelled carry them to help them walk long distanced and scale steep hills. As both of these groups of people have a higher than average chance of being magic users, the popular misconception has arisen that staves in some way assist magic.
R
Radiant Heat - A Pyracian magic that summons forth a great wave of heat. It is a favourite of those travelling in the cold, and those with a great number of enemies. Radiant Light - A Shinian magic that illuminates everything around the caster. Some fear the light, others embrace it. Rain of Swords - Causes a volley of swords to fall from the sky and impale the caster's enemies. Other schools of magic would question where these blades come from, but a mage of war seeks not answers, but glory. Rapid Movement - Allows the caster to move with the speeds of the wind. The followers of Fi loathe imprisonment; they are blessed to not have to face it often. Regeneration - The most powerful life magicians of Greternesh can heal their wounds as quickly as their opponents strike them. Rewind - A powerful time magic. With the ability to undo time and try things again seemingly infinitely, who can say how much of history has been carefully manipulated by La'an? Ring of Balance - Old ring of the Elves, who worshipped all gods as aspects of Greter. Reminds the wearer to draw wisdom from many sources.

Scalemail - Lightweight mail coat, made of overlapping metal scales. Armour of this style shrugs off slashing attacks, but stabbing attacks easily find their way between scales, and the armour simply doesn't weight enough to stop a crushing blow. This armour was preferred by the Crowdorian army over platemail due to its greater mobility and cheaper manufacturing cost. Scale Shield - Medium sized shield made from a single scale of a blue dragon. Those who rebelled against the dragons initially had great difficulty in protecting themselves from the dragons' fiery breath. But, after the first few dragons fell, an elegant solution was found. Scimitar - Curved sword, usually wielded by those who dwell in the southern deserts. Scimitars are faster and lighter than other swords, and favour a skilled user over a strong one. Shape Shift - An advanced Levia'anian magic, allowing the caster to temporarily transform into an animal of their choice. Legend tells of a devout sect of Elves and men who took the form of animals permanently and thus escaped from the violence of the civilised world Shielding Rock Wall - Rian magic. Causes a great wall of stone to rise up from the earth. The mages of Ri protect the earth, and it protects them in return. Shinian Shield - A kite shield decorated with a blessed holy symbol of the god Shinious. Enemies of the god of Light and Purity shudder at the symbols very sight. Shooting Star - Stars are holy to those who study time magic, due to their connection with prophecy. To call down a star from the heavens is an ability known to some time magicians. Shortsword - A small blade, usually wielded one handed. Typically no one's first choice of weapon. Perhaps its wielder has lost their original blade... or perhaps they are desperate. Shout of High Combat - Shields, armour, ranged weapons and fleeing are seen as dishonourable to the Herroxian people, who choose their leader through honourable combat. Shrug Off - A war magic most famously utilized by Demirox, who kept fighting after taking three arrows to the throat, loosing an arm to an axe blow, being infected with poisoned, set on fire and stabbed thirty-six times in the chest. Silence - A law spell used often and in many court rooms. Forbids the victim from speaking; and without prayer they cannot call upon their gods. Silver Mace - Silver weapons were first crafted by Elves, who appreciated the beauty of the object over its usability. Over time were-wolves became fearful of the blades and the skilled Elvish huntsman who wielded them. Slow Foe - Even the deadliest of foe becomes less deadly when moving at a snail's pace. Those who fight for the goddess of time readily take advantage of that fact with this simple spell. Spear - Even the most primitive society quickly learns how to make a spear. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. A reach of a spear is hard to out match in combat, and a wall of spears a nearly unbreakable line. Perhaps this is why they were the weapon of choice for the empire's legions. Stay Hand - A spell of Terrox, prevents an enemy from attacking. Many under estimate the power of this spell, but it has been used to stop even Herrox. Steam Cloud - Spell of the mages of water, creating a veil of steam in which to hide. Often used to give the caster time to plan their next move. Steel Skin - Powerful spell that transforms the caster's skin into metal armour. Metal is nothing more than extracts of certain rocks which have been purified and smelted together, as such metal is the dominion of the god of earth. Stunning Blast - A spell of Elven origin. The Elves could not reproduce, so preferred to stun other Elves in combat instead of killing whenever they could. Summon Creature - The world contains many deadly creatures, many of which can be called forth by the will of Pa'an.
T
Tactician's Blessing - Prayer spoken by generals and leaders before battle, asking Hydracious to guide them towards the best possible plan of action. The Hydracian devotee, Sir Owen, was known as one of the greatest tacticians who ever lived and this prayer is partially credited for his victories in the First Vorlidian War. Take Down - A mage of peace never kills their opponents, but will make them wish that they did. Tame Animal - Magical spell of the goddess Levia'an, who created all the plants and unintelligent creatures of the world. Through Levia'an, the life mages bend fauna and flora to their will Teleport - Magic of Pa'an, the god of space, who bends the shape of reality to his will. Those who follow this god often simply appear out of thin air. The Lord's Work - Blessing spoken by Dark Hunters, Crusaders and other Shinians throughout the world at the end of a day of holy war. Knowledge that their work is holy makes genocide easier. Throwing Axe - A carefully balanced axe, designed to be thrown end over end. The Herroxian people considered ranged weapons such as bows to be cowardly, but thrown weapons were honourable due to the strength and skill required. Time Hop - A spell known by human followers of La'an, allowing them to leap forward a short duration of time, often allowing for a clever escape or ambush. It is unknown weather the Elves had access to a different spell, or had merely mastered this one, as Elves were known to leap forward in time for much longer durations, sometimes hundreds of years. Tower Shield - A huge rectangular shield, almost impervious to any attacks. Due to its great size it is seldom used by anyone who wishes to travel anywhere.

Unleash Power - Shadious concerns himself solely in the pursuit of power. Spells such as this may begin to explain why.

Vacuum - Air cannot be hurled in the same way that earth, fire and water can. It is therefore easy to dismiss air's combative value; right until the air is pulled out of your lungs. Vial of Poison - A large glass vial of foul liquid. Large enough to dip a blade into. To fight with poison is one of the dirtiest, but most effective ways of killing a man.

Wall of Fire - This spell was originally designed as a test of Pyracian faith. Those devout enough to their god would not even hesitate before rushing through the wall. In more recent times, it is utilised as a defensive spell of the fire mages. Wall of Light - A later version of a similar Pyracian spell. Many gods had a hand in Shinious' creation, including the god of fire. Wanderer's Robes - Thin, white, hooded clothing. These robes shield the skin of those wandering the desert from the harsh sun. They also shield the faces of those wearing them... who knows what lies underneath. Water Blast - Simple magic of the goddess Hydracious, propels a blast of water towards its victim. Hydracious generally favours more subtle uses of magic. Water Walk - By subtly freezing the water beneath them, the followers of Hydracious easily cross rivers and lakes. Some masters of this element have even walked across oceans. Whirlwind - Spell of the goddess Fi. A favourite of soldiers and other melee fighters, the promise of freedom and being able to execute manoeuvrers such as this one draws many to Fi.
