"A Perfect World" Thousands of years ago, there was one race of elves; one elven empire ruling the world. These elves were quite proficient in the art of astral magic and had been gifted power over the elements from the elder dragons.
The world was peaceful, everyone was happy, and the empire and its people prospered, but despite that, some people sought more.
High Elves, mastering astral magic along with the elemental magic, discovered void magic, and arcane magic unknown to any. This magic twisted the elves, turning their minds and bodies into a dark shadow of their former selves.
"The Fall" The elders of the elves came to the agreement that this void magic was evil, and should be purged from the land along with its users. However, rather than the one-sided battle they assumed it would be, it quickly turned into a civil war.
Immortal blood poured over the land. The elves had split into two races, one side calling themselves "Astral Elves" and the calling the others "Dark Elves", with the other side calling themselves "Void Elves" and the other "High Elves" as an insult to their views of being better than the others.
"The Two Generals" Aillurin and Elashor, brothers and rulers of Itannór, waged war on the Dark Elves. Many were slain and a dark cloud covered the lands.
After many slain and millennia of war, peace was to be longed-for by few, while the others only sought the blood of their former brothers.
Aillurin, the eldest of the two brothers, longed for peace more than any other and tried to end the war. He gathered elders of astral elves and void elves alike, all who sought peace. Aillurin's efforts proved successful, yet at a cost.
"The Curse" The group of peace seekers gathered together and set a curse over the elven race, limiting their access to all astral magic, including void magic. Elves across the Continents felt it as their innate magical abilities were hindered and restricted, leaving them only a trickle of what they used to be able to wield. With their astral magic restricted, many elves started to die off, and the population and armies suffered horribly. War began to slowly cease, as both sides had lost many.
"The Separation" The void elves soon withdrew their armies and went into hiding as astral elves began to take the upper hand, and the Eternal War had ended. Elashor did not agree with his brother's actions of ending the war and cursing their own kind. He viewed him as a traitor, and out of anger, he attacked his brother. Brother fought brother once again, for one final time. The fight ceased only once both were fatally injured, and too weak to heal their wounds, they barely walked away from the fight.
Thus, the land of Itannór was divided between the brothers. Aillurin resided in the eastern riverine lands of Itannór and called it Tuinenór, and Elashor took the western forests and called them Taurënór.
After many years of separation, elves slowly began to die of age, as they had lost their astral magic and the Elder Dragons revoked their powers from them. Aillurin was not content, so he departed from Itannór with only his closest followers.
With the Fall of The Elves, the age of Mortal Blood would begin...
