War of the Sun: Stats

Stat Uses
Max. HP represents how much damage you can take. If your HP (not max HP) reaches zero, you die.
Strength represents raw might. It affects damage dealt with physical weapons (swords, axes, lances, bows.)
Magic represents raw magical power. It affects damage dealt with magic and the HP healed using staves.
Speed represents how quick you are, used by anyone for dodging attacks and by thieves to determine who they can steal from.
Skill represents how good you are at fighting, determining hit rates.
Defense represents how well you can take a physical hit. It reduces damage taken from physical attacks.
Resistance represents how well you can take a magical hit. It reduces damage taken from magical attacks.
Movement is how far you can move. It is the only stat that is exclusively class-based, with no personal stat or growth.

Stat Growths
When you level up, you will gain points to stats based on how you assign stat growths. You will never get an empty level up unless you cap a stat. Stats cap at 20 for base classes and 30 for advanced classes, except for HP, which caps at 60 for base classes and 80 for advanced classes. A stat growth of over 100% means that 1 point on level up is guaranteed, and the remainder is a chance for a second point.

HP and Life
The Life being the tens digit and the Power being 9 is because they both represent your HP. Power points can still be used to boost rolls, but they will reduce your HP by one or two points.
