War of the Sun: History

mylittlepony Jan '18
Almost one thousand years ago, the many squabbling factions on the continent of Alvar were united due to one major threat: a plague of dark creatures and demonic, human-like creatures. Man fought demon in a savage war, one that would be known as the War of Anathema. The demons were rebuffed by the efforts of the armies of the eight great heroes of the millennium.
Anil, the tempestuous master of swords.
Adena, the fiery and bold lancer.
Aspen, the cold, calculating, and peerless sniper.
Adad, the boisterous but giant axe master.
Alina and Aalona, quiet except to each other, the masters of light.
Azazel, the silent traitor to demons and master of darkness.
Anima, the sorceress who was named for the magic she would master.

The heroes would found the four nations of Alvar, which would become three by the present day.

Flagros, the nation founded by Aspen, as well as Azazel before he vanished. A nation of ice and snow, it was, until recently, a small land on the northern edge of the map. It was only notable for it's remarkably strong army.

Contego, the nation founded by Alina and Aalona, whose reign was peaceful and unchallenged, and until recently, so was the reign of their descendants. They later peacefully annexed Anima's nation.

Bestia, the republic founded by Anil, Adena, and Adad, who welcomed the beastfolk into their nation. Each founder created their own province, with the birdmen in Anil's province of Procella, the furfolk in Adena's province of Fraglantia, and the tiny population of Draconids along with most of the human population in Adad's province of Turbido. The beastfolk, however, are still in the minority of the population, and the government is mostly human.

It's been exactly nine hundred and seventy five years since the War of Anathema began.
