Twelve years ago disaster struck Konohagakure. The Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked and most of the village was destroyed. It took the combined forces of nearly all combat-ready shinobi in the village to make the Demon Fox flee. Of all that were sent out, less than 300 survived. The fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, was not one of them.
Since then, the village has been slowly recovering.
Academy Graduation Letter
Congratulations on graduating from the academy!
In a few days you will be assigned to a Jonin instructor along with a few others and will have to do a second test with them. In these days before the test, you will need to practice the jutsus you have learned previously and read over on notes. If you fail the test, your Jonin instructor has permission to send you back to the academy. If you pass the test, you will officially be a Genin!
As a Genin, you will be tasked with missions from the village. Due to the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's attack 12 years previously, Genin are now able to do B-Rank missions as well as C-Rank and D-Ranks due to the village's shortage of funds. Your Jonin instructor will accompany your team on these missions, so nothing to worry about!
