Built-in Ruleset. Unlike most virtual tabletops, Fabletop includes its own streamlined rules system. Everything you need to play is built right in.

Freeform Gameplay. The Fabletop system emphasizes storytelling and cinematic action instead of rules and stats. This means you can:

• Play almost any genre or character.
• Focus on storytelling instead of mechanics.
• Spend less time looking up rules.

Storytelling Through Text. With text roleplaying, there are no graphics limitations. If you can imagine it, you can describe it via the written word.

The best Fabletop games become stories that you can enjoy re-reading long after the adventure ends.

In-Character Chat. The chat window is where you roleplay all of your character's actions and dialogue.

Here are some of the shortcuts you can use:

Out-of-Character (OOC) Chat. This is the default mode, where you talk about the game itself. (e.g. "What traits should I use here?").

💡 Tip: After the game begins, try to limit OOC chat as much as possible so everyone stays immersed in the story.
