Some kind of random WIP spaceship battle game

humon Aug '15  /  edited Aug '15
This is the plan for my new spaceship game! Yep... Not really well-made forum

-Combat

Each turn, you can move, then use your traits
If shield is down: you can roll once for every enemy star rolled, if you roll a star, your ship gets damaged. it will have one less dice in every roll, an another star makes your ship get semi-destroyed, uncapable of actions, and the third star will destroy it (not perma death)

Combat stats:
You have a firing range of 5 (+ extra with upgrades)
You cant roll to dodge or block, but since you can roll wisdom to regain shield, and it automatically regens, you can survive easily
If you attack fighters or corvettes, one star kills one enemy, but they can roll to dodge, and corvettes also roll for shields, making them hard to kill (unless if you have flak)

-Character Creation

Base traits:
Might is the weaponry of the ship, simply the amount of guns and turrets
Agility is the engine of the ship, it helps you to move around, also better engine lets you have more armour-> harder to fall apart when the shields are down
Wisdom is the utility equipment of the ship, used for scanning, repairing etc

Base Stats:
Health: The amount of shield your ship has, every turn your ships regain one shield point, can be recharged with utility equipment
Power: Simply your energy amount, you can use power for different kind of weapons, or to activate afterburners, your ship fully regens this each turn

Bonus traits:
Quite complex... You can have four bonus traits, there are 3 main kind:

Offensive: Offensive weapons are your turrets, that can attack each turn, or can be used as a special ,,deus ex machina" when the time arrives
Two kind:
Active:
One that you can use as your Deus ex machina to deal huge damages by burning PP
Passive:
Simply a turret that keeps shooting all the time

Supportive: Special modules capable of doing advanced tasks, has a lot of uses, it can be a module capable of making your ship invisible, or simply a huge bunch of laser turrets swiflty taking out incoming rockets
two supportive types:
Active: Like a tool you can use to hack into the enemy ship and see what they talk about, or a special jump system that lets you jump small distances, or an active cloak field that you can turn on to become invisible to the enemy for a turn
Passive: A special equipment that passively gives defense, like a small laser turret taking out enemy rockets, or a cloaking field decreasing the chances of being hit
Example: Support name: 1 - Active/Passive module, module desc
i may increase the 1 to a larger amount if its weak enough

Extra vehicle: (uses 2 bonus trait, or you can echange an older trait with a trait point)
They can fight, repair etc.
Three kinds:

Fighter squadron (group of 10 weak units)
usage: squad name: 1 - W 1, M 1, U 0 squad desc
W (weaponry) means the strenght of your weapon, M (mobility) the speed and dodgeing, and U (utility) their special skills
You can have a max of 5 points (max 3 for 1 stat)
They lose weaponry and utility each time they lose too many units:
1 stat->no loss
2 stat->if loses 5 units, only 1 point of stat remains
3 stat->every 4 unit lost decreases stat by 1 point

Corvette squadron (group of 5 stronger units)
usage: squad name: 1 - W 1, M 1, U 1
W (weaponry) means the strenght of your weapon, M (mobility) the speed and dodgeing, and U (utility) their special skills
They have shields, so if they are hit, they can roll one dice against each enemy star rolled
You can have a max of 6 points (max 3 for 1 stat)

Frigate (a single companion with light weaponry)
usage: frigate name: 1 - W 1, U 1, S 1
W (weaponry) means the strenght of your weapon, U (utility) the the special equipment and S (shields) mean the amount of shield it has
You can have a max of 8 points (max 4 for 1 stat)

you can stack your bonus traits on extra vehicles (simply you can increase their amount that way)
