The Quest Journel

oman1666 Dec '13  /  edited Mar '14
The purpose of this forum is to track the plot and progress of Greternesh, below is a journal with the party's current quests and hints on how to solve them, it will be updated after each session.
I realize it may look like I spelt Journal wrong, but Journel is actually the High-Tongued word for 'Book' or 'Diary'
Okay that's a lie... but erm... shh.

The Death of Darkness

The ultimate goal; The last of Shadious' power is stored within an amulet currently being kept by Shinious, when this amulet is destroyed, Shadious will die and be no longer able to corrupt the world. The party have been asked to investigate means of destruction.

-The amulet was forged in The Rift, perhaps a clue can be found their?
-Drake O'Thorns says he found the amulet in the treasure pits of The Seven Mountains, perhaps something can be found their?
-A new people, The Dwarves, have begun to settle in an outpost in The Accursed North. they have very advanced technology, perhaps this could be used to destroy the amulet?

When Vorlord was saved, a shadow forged from his essence combined with that of Shadious was seen flying the temple and was too quick to stop. This magical shade is powerful and dangerous, a weak avatar of Shadious himself, the party have been asked to find and destroyed before it does any damage.

-The Shade was last seen running out of Vorlidia and into The Cursed Forest.

The Trees Wake

Three of Greternesh's four forests have been too quite for too long and have fallen into corruption and shadow. The Ents used to look after and keep the forests pure, but have faded, If these Ents were found and reawakened then these forests could all become places of purity and great source of hope, protection and light for the world. The party

-Darkwood can be found to the West of the world and is inhabited by barbarians, perhaps the locals know if their are Ents there?
-The Cursed Forest is full of Liches, Vampires and Werewolves, it is a very dangerous place to be and it is unlikely the Ents survived, but this needs confirming.

Due to the work of the party, and of some druids and Centaurs, The Forest of Beasts has been purified.

Matters With Minions

The Green-Skins still fester around Shintopia but without a master. They could be potentially dangerous. Shinious does not wish for a blood bath so seeks a peaceful solution with them and hopes to integrate them into society. Shinian magics have also created the pure-hearted White-Skins, perhaps with enough magic the Green-Skins could be elves once more. The party have been asked to look for solutions by speaking to each race and find out all they can about the spell that transformed the elves.

-The Green-Skins can be found outside the walls of Shintopia.
-The White-Skins can be found around Shinious' High Temple.
-The spell that transformed Elves to Green-Skins happen in the Secret Garden on Redrum island, perhaps some information can be found their

Liche Destruction

Thirteen immortal Liches have lived too long in power in The Cursed Forest, They are a people of pure corruption and evil magics and each of them could do as much damage as Vorlord did. As such they must be destroyed, but not even Shinious knows how to do it. If a means could be found of destroying them the world would be a much safer place. The party have been asked to investigate this on their travels

-The Liches live in The Cursed Forest, that might be a good starting point.
-The Liches were forged in Northhollow, perhaps a clue can be found there?

Slaying The Seven

Deep in the heart of Necra'an's rift are Seven Arch-Demons, guarding his power. If a brave party were to dive deep into the most dangerous place on Greternesh and destroy these seven then Necra'an's power would break and Demonkind would fall.

-Goliabuss the Gorged can be found somewhere in The Rift of Necra'an.
-Hackabun the Lazy can be found somewhere in The Rift of Necra'an.
-Lilabeth the Seductress can be found somewhere in The Rift.
-Zezamoth the Hoarder can be found somewhere in The Rift.
-Jebwrath the Fire Prince can be found somewhere in The Rift.
-Achamon the Annihilator seems to be up to no good in Ravenhill, the animals are filling with wrath and growing to a large size, the army are aware but unable to do anything.
-Lupher the Rift King can be found somewhere in the Rift.

Talmonton Relations

The Kingdom of Talmonton is ruled by King Richard, son of Nicholas IV of Crowdor. He may be envious of the Democratic Crowdorian Counties and lead a conquest on their lands. Already he is being a nuisance to trade between the DCC and Ravenhill and refuses to take council with President Walton. It is crucial that war does not break out between Talmonton and the DCC.

-Perhaps King Richard should be visited?
-It might be worth observing the country of Talmonton.
*The country seems very zealous, treating Richard like a god and referring to him being 'Chosen by Shinious'
*The country has a poor view of None-Humans
*The Broken Crown seem to be some sort of anti-monachy sect, they are being executed for treason and heresy

Herroxian Heirloom

In the second Vorlidian war, The Herrox Tribe of Darkwood went to battle with the army of Landing. The victorious Duke claimed the spoils of war and took The Axe of Herrox. This item, by divine right, should not be wielded by any other than the chief of Herrox's men, it must be returned to the chief of the Herrox tribe.

-The Axe is somewhere in Landing, probably under guard.

Rules on Redrum

The pirates on Redrum grow rowdy and self important, thinking themselves above all laws. They have fallen into sin and villainy, a country now of pillage, loot, gambling and vice. A single spark between the crews could lead to massive civil war and the destruction of an ancient order. It is preferable that this does not happen; As such the pirates of Redrum should be bought under some kind of rules and order.

-Redrum island can be found to the east of Crowdor
-It might be worth researching and investigating The Pirate Code.

Delving Too Deep

All of Greternesh may be in danger; The Dwarves have already begun great mining operations and industry, following veins of precious metal, but these tunnels are beginning to stretch too far East and towards The Rift. If the Dwarves tunnel into the rift then many demons could be freed and set loose upon Greternesh, these mining operations must be stopped.

-Esterhal can be found North of The Forest of beasts, South of The Purelands and West of The Rift.
-An audience with Lord Sayers, Dwarf Master of Esterhal, could go a long way.
