Right, welcome! This game is going to be based on what I know from many media considering occultism. And that might include many random encounters. First off, let gets some of the lore straight! Where is this base? Well, no where really. it's based in a sort of modern-esq area (50s-40s noir, so, detectives, women in red, and trilbies ahoy!)

So, how do you make a character you say? Well, you can use custom traits. Which you have 2 trait points to spend. So, either 2 level 1 traits, or 1 level 2 trait. Understand? Good, if not. Just use the Modern crime traits with some adjustments from me. Besides that. It's normal power and traits. Though. There is a thing for spell casters. Or Wizards as they are referred to as in the lore. Now, you might think spell-casting is all fire ball, shadow pew pew. And it is, in medieval fantasy. here.. Spell casting is more.. Complex. You see, like your character, you must remember how to cast spells. With Runes.

Now runes, are what makes an occult game. It's what banishes the big evil, cast yer spells, unlocks %#@&. Right? Well, runes are complex in the sense that.. Well, you got to remember the combinations for spells. Yes, that right. There is a limited amount of spells which you know, and the starting two spells you get are ones that I send to you. Why must I go through all this trouble? You may ask. Well, because magic here is something unknown to this dimension, it's borrowing power from another world. it costs a bit of your mind to understand all of this without going bloody bonkers.

Now, sometimes runes will do you good. but other times.. You might want to do a ritual. Which, is like the more powerful version. And this is also a bit more expensive as it requires materials. And sometimes, these materials have harmful effects on your body. So, spell casters might be powerful, but also a high-risk-high-reward deal.

Now, also. Another thing I should mention is Sanity. Now sanity is something which is self explanatory by this point. So, I'll only give a chart and let you figure out the rest.

1 wisdom: 5/5 Sanity
2 Wisdom: 10/10 Sanity
S*3 Wisdom: 15/15 Sanity.
4 Wisdom: 20/20 Sanity.
S*(Spell casters are locked to 15/15 Sanity, due to the fact you can't be fully sane and yet, have this forbidden knowledge. Sorry.)

Put the amount of sanity you have in yer notes. Like under yer inventory.
