The great sentinels

humon Feb '16  /  edited Nov '16
Medieval fantasy, mostly strictly human, acceptable magic described later in the forums

STORY:
There were a lot of rumours and stories about five great sentinels, there are even people who worship them: (they are based on the four elements)
-The Sentinel of Wind (air)
-The Sentinel of Energy (fire)
-The Sentinel of Power (earth)
-The sentinel of Life (water)

They are said to be incredibly powerful and wield infinite knowledge and wisdom.
It is said that there is four wise travellers travelling from city to city, teaching their knowledge, and they say they are the wielders of the knowledge of the four sentinel. They are like mini-Jesuses and the Sentinels are Gods.

It is also said that if someone can defeat one of those sentinels, he will gain all of it's powers and all of it's knowledge, taking the place of the old sentinel.

Not many rumours are about the fifth Sentinel, noone really knows much about it, most say it is the one who created all the other Sentinels, while many say that there is no such thing as a fifth Sentinel.

CC:
You are a human. There may be a few other special races, just not the classic ones like elves. Much like rare wolfmen and such.
2 bonus traits, dont make them ridiculously op...

The travellers are op, they weren't meant to be defeated. Dont get mad at me if even after several moons and lucky rolls it kills you in impossible means. That's what they are good at. Surviving.
This doesn't mean they are fully invincible, it is just luck that has no effect on them. Usually you'll have to prepare a strong enough trap card to defeat them.

Magic abilities: i'd prefer not to have any magic, BUT i allow lighter levels of it, if you beg much enough
Also scientificial magic, like ninja smokes and stuff

LOCATIONS:
The middle kingdom: a kingdom who specialised in being organised, it allows slavery and other barbaric customs, though it is quite well refined. It is much like ancient Rome.

The south kingdom: a kingdom known for its trading skills, there are many farmers and merchants, their larger cities are controlled by the royalty, those are the safest yet most dangerous places: they are racists and may force lesser people into slavery if they make a bad move. Such as steal an apple from the king's property.
The regular towns, trading posts and villages are safe for everyone as they don't have as much royalty in them, the most of the defense are made by the people living here and the royaltly doesnt care about them -giving a great nest to criminals and other out-of-law people...

The north kingdom: a kingdom known for it's fishers and snowy mountains, this is the place where you can chill down. It is currently in war with the middle kingdom though... they discourage slavery, and they see every person as equal, it be a noble or a servant: laws are equal to all. Yes, this place is like a true nordic paradise.

The east is forgotten, they are mostly no man's lands, but there are several forests, jungles, and oasises found scarcely around. The farther you go, the more deserts there are... Different dangerous monsters are also reported in the far-east.

The west is the ocean, it containing a large island controlled by the middle kingdom. There's not much about it... to the far northwest are the land of vikings living their viking lives. They dont usually visit those three kingdoms, but sometimes they do. That's also where the rare wolfmen come from.
