Hello dear hunter, and welcome to the world of Monster Hunting. This booklet given to you by whoever is transporting you to Ardale contains some information on the most likely species of monster you will see. The "Theropod Bird Wyverns". They're like raptors and most posses hard beaks that can damage you easily. They're all very nimble and will move about quickly, leaping at their prey. They seem to be remnant of the brute wyverns, but they're small and live in strict hierarchy, all the females and beta males being led by a larger and fiercer leader.

Velociprey

The Velociprey is a blue and black member of the Theropods, and they live mostly in forests and on grassy plains where their favourite prey, the aptanoth and kelbi, often graze. They hunt in packs and often go for the smaller and the weaker ones as the large ones are able to kill them. Picture: vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhunter/images/...

Velocidrome

The leader of the velociprey, the velocidrome dons a large orange crest and stands tall against it's subjects. It often nests in places where bushes or trees are surronding 3 sides as though being a stronger velociprey, it's still easy pickings for larger monsters. They have been seen taking down adult aptanoth solo and leading packs to raid whole villages. Picture: vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhunter/images/...

jaggi

A little less streamlined but certainly energetic, the jaggi are close relatives with orange and blue skin and unmistakable frills on their head. They live in large numbers and work together to tear apart anything that comes into it's territory.

jaggia

The female versions of jaggi. They're nowhere near as fast, agile or enegetic, but they're absolute brutes who can easily knock hunters down with a body slam. They're not as vibrant and their frills are never up, always just hanging down. Picture: mhtri.stilltruth.com/img/monsters/Jaggia.png

Great jaggi

The leader of the jaggi packs, great jaggi are large and brutal, having the energy of a jaggi, the brutal nature of a jaggia and the ability to call them to his side whenever they're needed with the haunting call. They can bite, body slam, hit with their tail, pounce and all sorts, while being a large and heavy monster. It has similar colours to a jaggia, but is much larger and has his frill up, which can be broken and put down when injured. Picture: mhtri.stilltruth.com/img/monsters/Great_Jaggi.png

Giaprey

Very similar to the velociprey, but paler, and they live in colder climates, working in groups to take down popo with their ability to spit out chunks of harmful ice. Picture: vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhunter/images/...

Giadrome

The leader of the giaprey, the giadrome is a cold blooded killer with the ability to spit large chunks of ice at prey. They leap around their prey to confuse it, while also spitting ice, before making the final pounce. Their royal crest is a bright blue. Picture: i26.photobucket.com/albums/c137/VilleValo1234/Giad...
