Background:
"Wrath of Susanoo" takes place in a mythical "Edo Period" Japan that calls upon divine arts as a form of magic. Warriors and Divine Practitioners ( those who solely practice divine arts ) alike swear very little allegiance to the likes of Feudal Lords, as war has become little more than a game of profit.
But of recent, the God of War, Susanoo, has disrupted the tides of battle, turning entire nations on each other in order to gain the favor of mortal men. As a result, many Feudal Lords and Divine Sage's have become aware, and have formed treaties in order to band together against the God of War, and thus the Wrath of Susanoo begins.
CHARACTER CREATION:
Race Descriptions:
- Human: The Majority Folk of Japan, nearly all are Asian by descent in this land.
- Kitsune: a human-like race of foxes, that are especially cunning in nature. Not fluently found in Japan, however, the Kitsune are commonly found as travelling merchants. (NOTE: Their senses are very sharp, so a commonly found custom trait among Kitsune is a sixth sense dice.)
-Hane: though maybe less anthropomorphic than the Kitsune, the Hane are bird-like in appearances, having feathered wings for arms. Found in variety of blue, black and grey colours, the Hane come from an island near offshore Japan.
(NOTE: their ability to fly is very limited, and can only hover for a short amount of time)
CLASS GUIDE
You may freely customize your character as long as you adhere to these rules (short version):
1. Lingo: Magic is called Divine Art. Mages are Sages. Magic Users are Practitioners.
2. No present-day or futuristic technology. Cannons may be negotiated.
3. Space-Time arts, along with the general laws of Physics magic is metagame, and therefore forbidden.
Divine Arts:
The magic in this world is referred to as Divine Arts, otherwise known as teachings from the gods. Divine arts are all separated by the elements that are involved, e.g. a Fireball would be a "Flame Divine Art" or "Flame Art" for short, and a caster proficient in Flame Arts would be known as a "Flame Practitioner". (Note: to be recognized as a Sage requires 15xp.)
Sword Arts:
The Art of war is also technically a Divine Art, created by Susanoo himself. However, they may commonly be referred to as simply "Archery" or "Swordplay", etc. The more common type of Sword are in fact Japanese Samurai blades, however Exported trade and the such allows European blades like "the longsword".
