You know how in a video game like Fallout or Skyrim everyone plays the same story, but due the choices you can make in the world you end up having a different and unique experience than anyone else? Shouldn't TRPGs be the purest form of that with unlimited choice? I think so. But there's a reason why a TRPG doesn't end up feeling this way. You play in a large group (making your own choices less possible as you become one voice in a crowd) and the campaign only runs once from start to end, with one set of choices.
I present... Tales of Two.
Tales of Two will be a simple core-fabletop campaign that will run several times with parties of two. Grab your best friend on the site and sign up. The two of you will play the same basic story as everyone else, but due to the choices and freedom of a TRPG will get your own unique experience not quite like any other games.
You can even watch other people play or discuss the game in the glade to share these different experiences or offer hints and tips!
Please note that each time I host this, I will attempt to host for multiple parties in succession, and therefore all sessions will have a 90 minute time limit (but we'll pick off exactly where we left off the next time. We should also be able to get more done in this time as they'll be less turns to wait through :) )
How to Sign Up
Come along on a Tuesday! If there's a specific player you want to play with, grab them, or just turn up to see who's free. Alternatively post in this forum to find a group.
After you've created your characters with your partner, and finished the introduction quest, you'll be added to the confirmed parties list.
Character Creation
More or less, character creation is core Fabletop, but to make the game a bit unique, I'm going to be running a slight, optional variant. Characters will be made together, at the same time, with a relationship between the two characters given as a prompt (you can make your characters anything you like, the only thing dictated will be the relationship between the characters, and even then you'll get a few choices)
-You and your partner's base stats add up to 14
-You and your partner have 4 bonus traits, adding up to 4
-You and your partner's life and power add up to 16
(In other words, one player can make a weaker than standard character, whilst the other player makes a stronger than standard character. Player 1 might have base stats adding to 6 and 3 bonus traits, whilst player 2's stats add to 8 and he has one trait.)
