Every time you go to a class you roll to try and raise your level for a certain stat which will help in missions and escaping.
In order to raise physical traits like strength stamina and speed you will have to actually participate in the work yard or spend your free time in your cell exercising.
Randomly prisoners will be confronted by Npcs like guards other prisoners regular students or even the disciplinary leader herself, in some cases it will be where everyone can see what happens in other cases only one person will know what happened through pm and they can choose whether to tell anyone or to keep it to themselves.
Throughout the game people will ask you to find objects, do tasks for them, or to find something out for them and doing so can either improve your relationship with them, get you a favor for later in the game, or can get you an item in return. Think about this if you want to plan an escape.
