Spells are special abilities which can be casted if either:
A. The player knows how to cast it, and has learnt all of its properties
B. The player has learnt a spell scroll
C. The player is in possession of a spellbook which contains the spell, and is imbued to said spellbook
D. The player is host to a creature which knows how to cast the spell, and has learnt all of its properties
To learn a spell, the caster must be of one of a few specific classes. Some spells for example can only be learnt by priests, while some only by shamans.
Starting spells:
-Based on the traits a player chosen, as well as their race, class, and other similar stats, the player will be given a short list of starting spells to choose from. To be exact, four spells, usually varied in type.
OOC: While the player would be given spells, and they could choose from it, in character creation the opposite is done: you write down 3 spells that you would like to see, and I will customize them to fit the mechanics of the game, and of course its balance.
Dice numbers:
Unlike most MMOs, Divined Ones is well-famous for its tendency to contain a lot of RNG. This means that spells might end up really powerful, or really weak after being casted, making them rather unpredictable.
Dice throws:
(WIP) (Averages, might differ)
A cantrip will use 2 dice + level modifier
1 PP spell will use 4 dice + level modifier
2 PP spell will use 6 dice + level modifier
3 PP spell will use 8 dice + level modifier
and so on...
This means that a single PP is essentially less than a full star (3 dice= 1 star), but since it is required for most spells and provides powerful attacks, it is still required besides life points. There will be many situations when a corresponding spell will have much higher potential than what physical provess could reach.
