Lords of the Realm - Noble Character Creation

funnio987 Sep '17  /  edited Sep '17
Whispers of oncoming war rests on the lips of every courtier in the keep you call home. Crown Prince Olsen, heir to the Imperial Throne has convinced his father, King Frederick 'the Frail' to mount an invasion against the far-east, the lands of the Elvahn. What drives the ambition of the Crown Prince is subject to a seemingly infinite amount of rumours, though none can be sure of the truth. An invasion of this scale has never been attempted, though it is certain that glory, coin, lands and prestige are sure to be in grasp for those that follow the King's Will in earnest and with valour.
It will not be long before a Royal Knight will arrive from the capital to raise levies, enlist men and collect taxes in the name of the King for the campaign. You are sure to be conscripted, a young noble with talents such as yours would no doubt be valuable to your future platoon.

Nobles, regardless of how high or how low, are always above mere peasantry. Therefore your character is privy to benefits that common-born are not able to obtain through natural means such as a higher base roll of currency, better and easier relations with lords and courtiers, inclination to a certain profession and a weapon that has already been purchased for them.
Nobles however have certain downsides. They have a lower base prestige gain, harder and lower relations with commoners and the lack of a third trait that commoners have.

Each noble character will start with the following things:
- Clothing, no armour.
- A fine-crafted weapon, something that enhances your character's own skill. For example, a minor Magi-Bled family sword to enhance your character's combat prowess. A small info section must be written on how it came into your character's hands or it can be incorporated into backstory. Will appear as a trait, determined by GM. Can be traded in for armour that serves a defensive purpose. Influences more than just plain combat damage and defence.
- A single item. Optional, mostly used for roleplay and/or flavour. A small info section must be written on how it came into your character's hands or it can be incorporated into backstory.
- Two traits, one pertaining to your character's general skill and the other to what your character has primarily trained/specialised in.
- Crowns. Roll 10 die for a currency roll, and depending on what you get GM will determine the amount of money.
- A small amount of prestige that will be determined by the GM. The specific amount depends on several factors.

Just a note, no edgelords or powerplayers. Please.
This is a game built on characters and their interactions, so keep in mind there are other characters and players. Don't ruin their (and my own) experience.
