fortysecond Aug '16  /  edited Nov '16
A local sailor's tale.

Now presented to you on screen... with MUSIC! : goo.gl/az4PhF

ACT I

Two lovers, both circus performers, birds on a wire, but WINGLESS!
Their hearts entangled. She, a fire-eater, him a human cannonball. An accident inescapable, fatal.

Six feet under, the betrothed's body is retrieved by a team of archeologists.
The mourning fiancée has already put a bullet through her skull.

Judged useless, the young man's body is soon returned to its earthly home, joined by his dead companion.
Their souls excavated by the hand of God, their spirit ethereal. Flying hand in hand. Together through death!

ACT II

Awaiting trial in the courts of Purgatory. The Holy Judge's wig keeps falling, pushed by the blows of celestial trumpets and the winds of the beating wings of angels.
The date is delayed.
The couple of souls talk to other lost minds to pass the time. Some have been filling documents for thirty years, their situation still irregular.

Finally, a decision is reached!

He is pulled into the gaping mouth of heaven. She, led deep into the dark foliage of HELL! Sinner! Sinner! SINNER!

Two lovers... SEPARATED!

ACT III

Chained to a golden gate, a pair of plastic wings stuck inside his shirt, the young lover is unable to fly to meet his beloved fire-eater.

Swallowing smoke in Hell, the young woman is led to a volcano. Her soul feels so cold without a tender heart to embrace.
The demons lie lazily on their backs, too tired to watch her. She is quick to escape!

Meanwhile, the blessed soul slips out of his golden chains. FREEDOM AT LAST!

Back to the jungle, moist leaves caressing her cheeks. Gently.
Her feet carrying her absent weight fast as light. Fast as God's WRATH!

Heavy rain wetting his forehead, he is running on soaked, dark clouds.
Heaven is weeping his loss.

Midway, two lovers miss each other. One enters the jungle. The other crawls under Heaven's Doors.

By fate separated.

ACT IV

In despair, she examines the heavenly archives, looking for her love's cell. Running to meet him there, she finds him absent. Thunder roars like a leopard whose tail has been set on fire.

Lost in hell, he climbs the volcano under the surprised gaze of lazy demons. His hands hot! The demons worry about him hurting himself. One flies to help him but is sent away with brave stupidity.

"What have you done to him?", she asks a passing magistrate in robe who struggles to keep his wings from spitting feathers all around.
Through tiny glasses, he examines the lover's portrait on the file.
"Gone.", he says.
"Gone?".
In an act of dispair, she steals the magistrate's wings and takes off, her delicate feet leaving the ground. She hopes to reach a place beyond heaven if she rises high enough.

FINAL ACT

His knees burnt by the neck of the volcano, the lover loses his balance and falls down. Into the volcano's gaping MOUTH!

To stop the girl in her attempt to escape, a group of archangels have brought a cannon. Quickly, aiming its mouth towards the fugitive, they set fire.
Emerging from the cannon, from a cold, deadly volcano, the lover's head looks at startled archangels. An explosion and the human cannonball is sent UP... He takes hold of his love.

Reunited! They burst through the celestial canvas and into the void, where love can be shared in secret... and without fear.
