'Until now, the deer has never felt a need to live. Survival was a basic goal that motivated his motions and momentums, but he only survived for survival's sake. Now, however, with the snout of the void-machine sneaking around the corner, the deer wants to survive so that he can run again. He wants to stand in a field at dawn, to drink from the river, to sit in the shade during the midday sun. All of the things that never meant more than survival, now come together to have a shared meaning: Life. Life propels him forward to continue itself.'
