In an alternate timeline..
Eight strangers entered an worn out, abandoned japanese temple in Fukui Japan, once called Eiheiji Temple.. or the Temple of Eternal Peace. One of the eight, clad in red robes with long flowing white hair, led the other seven to a well preserved shrine and approached what appeared to be a pedestal in the center of the room. Upon it was a rather ornate porcelain vase covered in dust. "This place has been long over due for a visit.. longer for a cleaning.. Look upon the centerpiece of this temple.. notice it is not a statue.. nor a scroll.. weapon.. nor anything one might expect to see at the focus within a temple.. This particular selection, is known as the Unmei no kabin.. the Vase of Destiny.. it is said that it alone can grant abilities beyond one's greatest hopes with just one drink of it's contents." The speaker would approach the vase and start walking around it, letting their fingers trace upon it's surface, gently caressing the ornate designs and brushing the dust off each one at a time.. six designs in total. "Many have tried.. for various means.. to fill it with water, to drink from it.. yet nothing changed in their lives.. no great power.. no cure to their ails.. One might ask.. why?" The individual turned to face the seven, his red eyes seeming to take on a light glow as they revealed themselves to the group as he smiled. "They were not worthy of the gifts.. they were not the chosen.." He would explain to them as he took the vase in his hands, turning it to show the group what was on the surface as he turned it in his hands. "Upon this vase there are six distinct designs.. Unusual designs to say the least, by the culture which has stood guard over this very vase since it's creation.. Futatsu no yunikōn.. The Two Unicorns.. Hāfuringu.. The Halfling.. Doragon.. The Dragon.. Ningen.. The Human.. Erufu.. The Elf.. Yōsei.. The Fairy.." He would pause, turning it back to the symbol 'Ningen', and with a wipe of his fingers, the symbol vanished. "This vase holds the powers of six Warriors of Destiny.. The seventh.. was the one who saved them from being lost to the Darkness.. and this may make you wonder who the seventh was and is.. and why there are seven of you, with only six chosen to receive these gifts.. it is because I am the seventh.. and ONE of you does not belong.." He would tap his hands upon the side of the vase, while the collected individuals turned to look among themselves. Quickly the six moved together as they realized there was an individual they did not recognize, who for some reason they had not noticed travelling with them. They had been followed, and the unwelcomed being they now saw was made of dark energy.. and it had risen from their shadows, drawing it's power from them as it grew larger. "I will explain everything later.. but now I need time to prepare! Fight the interloper with everything you have! The Darkness must get it's hands on the key, or all hope is lost!" the robed male called out to the group, as the symbols on the vase in his hands would vanish before the container turned from porcelain into crystal, revealing a luminescent rainbow colored object floating trapped inside. cdn.instructables.com/FUL/8OAX/GWF60WJN/FUL8OAXGWF... The six chosen ones would indeed face the threat before them, but without having the powers of the Guardians bestowed upon them, they were quickly destroyed one by one. As the Darkness closed in on the white haired man and the vase, the man would raise his left hand to pull something from around his neck and hold it up in the beast's path to reveal a glowing rainbow crystal shard pendant hanging from a black cord, and shout in a booming voice: "I call upon the powers of Time and Space! Seal this fate in another dimension and place!" As a clawed finger of the beast touched the pendant, a bright light would emit from and blast outward from the crystal, as everything froze in place.. then went black.. Within this Realm (which had existed apart from all others as the separation between these vile forces and all others of creation) were Three Gates upon three planes of power, filled with various beings called Guardians. Their purpose was to protect the central doorway into the multitude of universes, known as the Gate of Eternity.
No one knows how it happened.. but it is said the Darkness managed to invade the Realm of Myhhr with such force that it overwhelmed the Gates one after the other, destroying the Guardians within each before moving on to the next..
First was the Outer Gate (composed many vast platforms of thick Sky Blue and White Crystalline structures), where existed Guardians of Might, had contained creature races such as the Impenetras Gigantious, Taurian Superius, and the Equinian Aeronites. They were lead by the Legendary Guardian Helios (a beautiful blue maned Pegasus), his wife Alessa (a fiery red maned Pegasus), and daughter Rayne (an enchanting rainbow maned Pegasus)..
Second was the Inner Gate (composed many vast platforms of thick Emerald Green Crystalline structures), where existed Guardians of Agility, had contained creature races such as the Humanoid Animalia, Terria Archerians, Dwarficus Ecliptic, and Aquaticar Imperiatus. They were led by the Legendary Guardian Iroki (a witty purple skinned halfling Dragon rider) with his mount (a fierce ivory Dragon), though later would be replaced by another during the war when they met an unfortunate end.. but such is a story for another time.
Third was the Central Gate (composed many vast platforms of thick translucent Rainbow Crystalline structures), where existed Guardians of Magic, had contained creature races such as the Magisterian Pixicar, Angelius Divinicus, and the Elitus Arcanium. They were led by the Legendary Guardian Shailith (A ruthless Crimson Elf).
In the middle of it all was the Door of Eternity, a massive shimmering Black Onyx Crystalline door that lay in the center of the Fae Castle within the inner most space of the Central Gate. This door was guarded by the Legendary Guardian Marisus (an enchantingly beautiful Fae).
As far as Legends go, the Central Gate was impenetrable, and could not be breached, let alone opened, without the combined application of the keys held by each of the Legendary Guardians to its surface.
Needless to say.. the gate has not been breached, or we would not be here now for me to tell you of such myths.. You see, only one of those Guardians is said to have managed to survive and escape the darkness unscathed.. with him he carried the fate of existence itself, contained within six crystal pendants of various color.. Sky Blue, Emerald Green, Crimson Red, Goldenrod Yellow, Cloud White and Onyx Black.. Each one was carried by a Fallen Guardian..
You may be wondering by now how there are six Crystals when I have spoken of only four guardians specifically.. you see, there were two others.. One was Alessa, wife of Helios.. as it was the Outer Gate they defended, they were the first line of defense.. it was essential to have a secret Guardian to aid in protecting the sanctity of the Realm.. the other was named Deteric, an outsider called to Myhhr in a time of approaching chaos.
When he was awoken as a Guardian during the start of the war, he took his true form and became the replacement for the fallen Inner Gate Guardian. He would not know that his true purpose was not to fight in the war against the darkness, but to survive it.. and find new souls to take up the mantles of power left behind by the fallen, and take on the responsibility as the new Guardians of Myhhr.. to save time and space from the ultimate evil..
Over time, since his being cast out of the destroyed war torn Realm.. Deteric scattered the pendants across time and space, to keep them safe until he could locate the new prospects who would prove worthy.. Who knows.. maybe you are one of the fated defenders of eternity, child.. do you think you carry a Guardian's soul within you? Are you one of the Legends?
